The loudspeaker of the composition “Frankie and Johnnie” can be telling the storyplot of two people that were within a relationship, in which Johnnie was cheating in Frankie, and then Frankie kills Johnnie. The poem starts out telling the readert this individual backstory of Frankie and Johnnie. The speaker says that “Frankie and Johnnie were lovers…They swore being true to each other/ Since true since the skies above; ” (ll. one particular, 3-4)Then this goes on to say that Frankie bought Johnnie a whole lot of wonderful, expensive things and provided him a whole lot, if not all, of her money to get presumably simply no particular purpose.

After that, Frankie goes away to Memphis for whatever reason and when the lady comes back, the lady learns that Johnnie continues to be cheating on her this whole time. “[Frankie] Gave her money to Johnnie, /he spent it on individuals parlour whores; ” (ll. 23-24).

In that case Frankie goes down to a bar and asks the bartenders if Johnnie had been generally there. The bartenders says he previously and he had been which has a girl name Nellie Undselig.

Finally, Frankie goes to jail and then gets hanged for killing Johnnie. “The Sheriff took Frankie to the gallows, / Put up her till she passed away, / they will hung her for eliminating Johnnie, ” (ll. 121-123)

There are a few situations of radical language through this poem. “Lovers” (l. 1), “swore” (l. 2), “true” (l. 2), “gave” (l. 8) are typical positive words and phrases that make you feel that they have a great, healthy marriage. But phrases like “wrong” (l. 5), “shot” (l. 39), “hurts” (l. 74), “hack” (l. 77), “hearses” (l. 81), “graveyard” (l. 83), and “coffin” (l. 106) are negative words that cause you to the conclusion of Johnnie’s fatality.

The concept of the the poem is that you will encounteer consequences intended for mistakes that you just make. Both Johnnie’s and Frankie’s treatment was fatality for what that were there done. Even though most effects aren’t this harsh, the writer exaggerates this so he could prove his point.

This kind of poem is definitely tied to the real world because this poem is based on an absolute story of a woman called Frankie Baker, who was a prostitute, and exactly how she slain Allen Britt, who was her pimp. Over the years, the story has had its differences and a lot of the important points have altered, but the total message is the same.
