The 1300s were a time within the brink of change. Individuals were putting a higher price on education, books was getting into the hands of the inhabitants, and fine art was starting to reflect your life. Aquinas, Dante, and Giotto represented the intellectual, literary, and creative genius from the 1300s. These men were prior to their time by taking a humanistic aspect with their works. These were concerned with our as a creature of this world as well as the next. These men genuinely show the move from Middle ages to Renaissance. They also confirmed a balance inside their concern with the human soul as well as their concern with the human because an earthly individual.

During this time better education a lot of scholars questioned the thought of blind faith since the guide to truth. Students of Aristotelian idea believed that everything in nature could be understood without reference to a work creator. Two schools of thought in the finding of truth had developed, 1 reached through human explanation alone as well as the other reached through keen revelation. St . Thomas Aquinas refused to simply accept this dichotomy stating that human explanation, a gift from god, could hardly lead to contradictions with work revelation. This work was a means for him to understand and appear sensible of what his your life had become while trying to know what may come inside the afterlife. The Divine Comedy was also a way for him to settle a vendetta against Florence plus the Church. Dante tried to seem sensible out of the afterlife, Gods program and the defects of the Church. The Dolore was Dantes version of hell and Reason was his guideline. In the Tormento the consequence fit the crime and several well-known and respected men of times, including a lot of clergymen, existed there. The reasoning at the rear of this great job was equally personal, visiting terms with being sentenced as a sinner, and open public, bringing to light the hypocritical characteristics of the cathedral.

Giotto Di Bondone was another guru of the 1300s that signifies the transition from Ancient to Renaissance. The art of the Medieval times depicted human beings as firm, two-dimensional, representational spiritual abstraction. Giotto brought a more humanistic approach to fine art by laying out humans in a more realistic light. He employed light and darkness, presented depth and perspective, which is noted intended for anatomical realism. He offered his numbers a range of emotion and made them appear lifelike. Not anymore was faith based art only symbolic and hard to relate to, now people were becoming more emotional about art. Greek and Roman values were being reborn and traditional humanism was being brought into literature, art, and education. Aquinas, Dante, and Giotto helped in this vitality and therefore symbolize the elegance of their time.
