Though my favorite Philippine food to enjoy here is via my grandmother’s kitchen; there are some restaurants my local freinds and I delight in eating in. A few of my own girlfriends and I have made Chiribita Wednesdays a practice in the summer time at La Casa. My buddy, sister and i also go to Los Cabos at least one time a month in West Dieses Moines, which can be an amazing delicious Mexican restaurant. I love Monterrey in Altoona since it’s and so close to the house, but not any restaurant may compare to Tiki Tok in Mexico.

My best friend and I were sense spontaneous therefore we took a week off job and proceeded a cruise. We both discovered it difficult to consume on the ship because i was continually obtaining sea sick and tired. I’ll always remember the rubbish, chewy, and crunchy flavor of the very little shrimp and cocktail spices going down my personal throat, or the unpleasant sense I had in order to was coming up.

The sole bad memory space of my trip was praying that my legs would prevent shaking which my quest would hopefully reach an end so I may stand about solid floor. Other than getting sea ill for the very first day; I had a great time on the cruise trip!

I got the chance to see several things and go to quite a few areas. One of the ports of call was Cozumel, Mexico, and my friend Alexandra and I made a decision we wanted to make an effort some genuine Mexican food. Of course , we were a little concerned with getting ill, but Now i’m glad to express that failed to happen. We asked around the ship where the best place for Philippine food was, but they stated that anywhere over the main purchasing strip can be good. All of us then identified a place referred to as the Tiki Tok. The location was on the second level of a building.

We sitting out on the tiny balcony that they had. They’d covered it with sand. The view from the restaurant was amazing. I had been hypnotized by vibrant shades and the employees’ of the restaurants equally radiant lifestyles. I remember feeling jealous of the staff because they will get to get back to Tiki Tok tomorrow and the day there after, but I wouldn’t. The walls were an explosion of colourful textiles every color of color one could imagine that was as strong as can always be. Vases were on every stand with burnt orange and deep discolored dried potatoes inside.

The chairs at the dining furniture were made of your Mexican Serape material. The colours, the fringe, and the feel than it gave the restaurant even a stronger Philippine energy. My favorite part of the eating places decor was your little difficulté lights that strung among all the surfaces connecting every single bulb towards the wrought straightener chandelier in the midst of the room. When one initial enters the restaurant the Mariachi strap is one of the the majority of noticeable features. Three males were dressed in black with button up shirts and decorative sombreros all standing in the corner of the area.

Two males had violins and the third was handling a guitar. Even as we took our seats the band started playing energetic music and some older couples got up and danced fearlessly. Every thing in the restaurant was bold excluding my bashful personality; otherwise We would have danced too. I was in a state of hypnosis watching those dance with one another until the Mariachi band shouted in synchronize, “AY!  causing myself to be brought back to the present. At that moment I had noticed how hungry I was. The menu rates were in pesos, so it looked like every thing was really pricey, but it had not been.

We ordered the hot and spicy red enchiladas that were about 62 pesos, and brought us chips and salsa. The chips had been a little bit heavier than you would get here in the US, and there are three different types of salsas. There is a regular ángulo de valentón, then there were one constructed with tomatillos, and the last was obviously a pineapple cilantro salsa that was actually genuinely tasteful. Lexi and I have never had pineapple cilantro salsa before, therefore we were not sure if it was going to be delicious or not. After padding myself with chips each of our food finally arrived.

It was just about the yummiest factor I’ve ever had. The red sauce for the enchiladas was a little different than what I’ve got here, yet I won’t be able to tell you how. It was more delicious above there though. There was chicken breast inside the enchiladas and a little sour cream on top. We-took the extra jugo we had not demolished with the chips and smothered our enchiladas with it. We ate every single last mouthful of it and was and so full later on! The amazing meals I had in Mexico was your best Philippine food I’ve ever had. I remember the smell of the water and nice salsa at the same time.

The multi-colored sombreros plus the ocean entrance view was an amazing sight to see when enjoying the foodstuff as well. Anytime I think regarding Mexico I think about the short beach front chairs, sand between my personal toes, all the smells of the restaurant, having a laugh with my best friend and scrumptious enchiladas. This will be a storage that would be difficult to forget since we took so many pictures from the restaurant and it was the very best eating experience I’ve had yet. Now i’m really delighted that my buddy and I could have this eating experience with each other. Alexandra and i also enjoyed that very much!
