Othello: Jealousy Sexual in Nature/p>

William Shakespeare’s tragedy Othello manifests a lot of activity motivated with a variety of article topics, some good and more not so. Let’s analyze what many experts consider as the dominant passion on the part of the protagonist’s greatest actions.

A. C. Bradley, in his book of literary critique, Shakespearean Disaster, describes the dominant motivating passion in Othello:

In the second place, there is absolutely no subject more exciting than sexual envy rising towards the pitch of passion, and there may hardly end up being any stage show at once so engrossing and thus painful as that of a fantastic nature suffering the torment of this love, and driven by it to a crime and this is a grotesque blunder.
… But jealousy, and especially lovemaking jealousy, provides with this a sense of shame and humiliation. For this reason it can be generally hidden, if we understand it we ourselves are ashamed and turn into our eye away, so when it is not hidden it generally stirs contempt as well as shame. Nor is this kind of all.
