The procedure to teach syntactical skills towards the ELL will begin with the instructor showing how to diagram a simple, compound and complex sentence in your essay on the white board (this will interact with the student’s inability to recognize parts of presentation – the teacher is going to identify parts of speech since the content are being diagrammed and show visually in the diagram how a parts of presentation connect to the other person syntactically).
Students will then be requested with diagramming sentences the fact that teacher gives (this will link to the student’s problems using terms appropriately – the student might find how phrases go with each other as he layouts them on the board plus the teacher gives immediate responses while watching).
As the sentences increase more complex, the student will begin to learn how diagramming will help the format of sentences to be illustrated (this will link with all the student’s incorrect use of phrases) (Freeman, Freeman, 2014).
Through repeated practice of this treatment, the student is going to acquire an understanding of syntax (this relates to Krashen (2003) on how attaining is a procedure for immersion).
