“The Amigo Siblings, ” written by Piri Jones, is a account about a particular friendship between two kids. Antonio and Felix, two seventeen yr old boys, have raised up jointly and are close to one another. They are doing almost everything jointly.

They equally dream of another in which they are the light and portable champions on the planet, and collectively they help each other educate regularly. Then a time comes when all their friendship is usually threatened since for the first time at any time, they have to contend against the other person in a match.

In the end, however , their marriage survives because both boys value their friendship over their plans. Through the words, thoughts, and actions of Antonio and Felix, the writer expresses the theme that friendship is far more important than competition. Right from the start of the tale, the kids have a conversation that reveals the importance of their companionship. One day while they are working out for the upcoming fight they shall be having against one another, the boys avoid eye contact with one other. Felix breaks ice by declaring, “I believe we both received something to state to each other. “

As they talk, they the two admit they may have been having difficulty sleeping through the night because they are concerned about hurting each other. Their concerns show that their romance is important to them. If this weren’t, the upcoming battle would not think about on their thoughts. Instead, their focus will only be on preparing for the fight hoping of successful. The author clearly uses the boys’ terms to display the importance of friendship. Following talking, the boys make a decision not to see each other right up until the day with the fight, but neither could end thinking about the other because each is worried about their very own friendship.

The narrator says that “Both fighters had a lot of psyching up to do before the big fight. ” This assertion shows that the boys’ companionship is so powerful that to be able to fight each other, they need to block out their thoughts. On the evening before the battle, Antonio won’t be able to stop thinking of how this individual does not want to injure Felix. This individual tries to tell himself that “friendship has nothing to do with it, ” but “a gnawing doubt [creeps] in. ” He prays the fact that knock-out could happen in the 1st round hence, avoiding the necessity to continually hand techinque and injure Felix.

Felix, too,  tries to block out his thoughts and feelings about Antonio, but while he’s sitting in a movie theater, his thoughts are really much with Antonio that he maintains imagining Antonio’s face for the movie display screen while this individual, Felix, is usually punching him out. Equally boys are unable to stop contemplating protecting the other since their romance is so vital that you them. Here, again Piri uses the boys to testify for the value of friendship. Finally, the story’s theme is usually relayed through the final activities of the young boys. During the fight, both are centered on winning the match.

Every attacks the other with full push. The deal with becomes thus violent the referee has to pull all of them apart. Following cold water is put on they are all, they begin to come back to actuality. When they realize what provides happened to them, that they rush toward each other and hug. Afterwards, the bell rings to announce the winner from the fight, nevertheless the announcer looks around to identify the victor, no one is there. The boys leave the band “arm in arm. ” The reason that they leave is that they realize that earning is not what is most crucial to all of them.

What they genuinely care about is their friendship. Piri finalizes his idea through the greatest actions with the boys. In conclusion, the boys’ choice to leave the boxing industry sums the author’s viewpoint about camaraderie. Throughout the story, their pressure and matter for their relationship is uncovered through the interactions they have with one another, their thoughts that stay with them ahead of the fight, and the choice they earn at the end of the fight.
