Professional Learning and Development – the Teacher’s Perspective

According to the 2013 statement issued by the Center for Public Education entitled Educating the instructors, “recent education reforms have got urged instructors to foster collaboration, controversy and reflection amongst college students, in order to develop cognitive techniques like individuals called for in the new criteria. Often , there was not enough support intended for teachers to create such necessary shifts within their classroom pedagogy.
The most common kind of teacher schooling was training courses (90% of the teachers in the report took part in this sort of training) although this was located to be one of the least methods to improve training. One-on-one mentorship and coaching was deemed to be more attractive which a ‘master teacher’ provides specific feedback on a teacher’s performance in class. Research method
This qualitative research study will take place at just one secondary university with 105 teachers. Professional development and training exercises are integrated into the strategy of the school.
