At this time we are moving into a world exactly where information is very abundant and mostly open to everyone as a result of internet. Secureness and level of privacy are big issues at present and somebody has to do a couple of actions relating to these issues. People dealing with the security and privacy of information participate in the discipline of Information Protection, and we will be lucky to meet someone familiar with this field of work. Previous February twenty-seven at PURSE Multimedia Space of St Therese Building, we held a workshop about I . t and each of our speaker was Mr.
Ferdinand Samaniego and together with him is a Computer Engineering graduate of Adamson University, Mr. Tet Agudo. Mr. Samaniego is the Lead Penetration Specialist of Bitshield. His task is to find possible dangers on applications and provide solution to these threats.
The workshop was late for about one hour because Mister. Samaniego and Mr. Aguila were trapped in targeted traffic. Most of us shed their passion about the seminar due to delay.
But when Mister. Samaniego and Mr. Aguila arrived and started the seminar, everybody became extremely excited and the eagerness to understand came back to us because Mr. Samaniego told that he will handle issues about hacking. I think it is normal for us Pc Engineering college students to obtain excited when the topic is hacking. There were already attended several seminars and whenever the topic can be hacking it usually receive all our focus throughout the workshop. So as expected, the workshop was extremely lively and interactive. Pupils raised their questions and Mr. Samaniego and Mr. Aguila voluntarily addressed these questions.
At the start of the seminar, Mr. Samaniego asked all of us which os we are applying in our computer systems. All of us responded Microsoft WindowsOperating System. He laughed and then challenged all of us that if we are using Cpanel Operation System just raised our hands and he will give some freebies to us. Yet no one raised his/her hands. He again laughed and told us that we need to try and check out Linux Operating System because it is way more versatile and more protected than Home windows Operating System. Mr. Samaniego recommended us that when we attained our house that day time, we try to install Cpanel OS within our computers or download a Virtual Equipment and work Linux OS in that VM.
After he discussed Linux OS and Virtual Equipment, Mr. Samaniego asked us how various programming dialects we learned here in Adamson University. We all answered your five programming languages namely, C++, Assembly, C#, Java and C. This individual advised us to study more programming different languages because it is each of our key to enter the industry community if we want to venture on Programming or perhaps Information Reliability. Mr. Samaniego told all of us that if we want to enter the field of InfoSec we must equipped ourselves with scripting languages just like Ruby and Python because it is the most common vocabulary use to assess threats on applications. This individual said that based upon what development languages all of us knew it can be very easy for people to study other programming dialects because a lot of the programming languages are structured from C Language.
The final part of the seminar was the most interactive portion of the seminar, while we are allowed to increase any question we had within our minds. Not surprisingly most of the inquiries were about hacking plus some were about Linux Main system. Mr. Samaniego and Mister. Aguila answered all of our inquiries and even shared some of their encounters in the industry. Mr. Samaniego shared to all of us that he once countless Globe Telecommunications as an info Security officer. Back in the day when cyber-terrorist found a hole within their network and used it to experience a free net connection as long as they have one influencia load. It took them weeks to learned that concern and a few days to provide a answer regarding the concern.
Mr. Samaniego was the one who provided the perfect solution. He informed us the problem was very simple as well as the hackers were too ingenious to use it to have an web connection. The hackers route the DNS of your website to another IP address, and that IP address offers them net connection. The solution Mr. Samaniegp supplied was also simple, however it was a key he joked us. He also gave us a directory of websites where wecan study Information Secureness, websites just like easycouncil. com, gsn3. org, ic2. org, securityfocus. com, cisecurity. org and other more websites where we can start off studying InfoSec.
At the end of the day, I was very thankful for this workshop about Details Security. This seminar opened a new employment opportunity for me and taught me new things. Mr. Samaniego and Mr. Aguila were truly knowledgeable people from the field of InfoSec and I was lucky to satisfy them and listened to almost all their advices and lessons. I realized that Technology offers an extensive career path and we must not prevent learning because IT world is usually continuously growing and we must cope to these developments. A seminar similar to this is necessary for people to learn new things and acquire inspired by IT professionals.
