Equally “A Fresh England Nun” by Martha Eleanor Wilkins Freeman and “Young Goodman Brown” by simply Nathaniel Hawthorne are stories of distinctive New Britain traditions. When “A Fresh England Nun” portrays the marrying persuits of old New Great britain, “Young Goodman Brown” depicts the religious customs of Puritan Fresh England.
