First Steps
Clearly – primary steps are to work through the good feelings of suicide and find ways to get Martha on a treatment plan with a professional.
Mary needs to either seek immediate support from a psychiatrist; perhaps who can prescribe either anti-anxiety medication or screen for anti-depression. Jane may be in enough of any crisis that emergency psychiatric treatment might be needed; looking at herself right local hospital or at the minimum finding a medical assessment as quickly as possible.
Potential
Turmoil intervention – critical that Mary obtain help; initial issues to hide are: self-esteem, that suicide is not really a solution, locate ties towards the world that Mary may actualize; distract Mary in the negative by simply asking regarding the positive; highlight the future can hold a great deal of motherhood, etc .
There are a variety of factors – first, trust and empathy has to be established; Martha is battling but has to know that there are steps that may be taken to help the pain end. Something inside the brain biochemistry and biology MUST change for Mary to feel a lot better. Patience, perserverence are necessary – compassionate input (see below).
Mary’s Belief
Mary interprets that this lady has little decision, and that she actually is on the brink – her money scenario is terrible, her associations are all yet naught, and her physical health can be deteriorating along with her mental overall health.
Mary seems to have lost the spark, the will, to actualize. Lack of eating, lack of interactions, lack of external stimuli happen to be forcing her inward.
Alternatives for Mary
Important never to lecture Martha, but through appropriate asking probe regions of interest with her and allow her to see that there are options pertaining to care, standard treatment, and those who want to see her succeed.
Explore her strong points: ask about what she is good at, what this lady has passion to get, etc . Build upon the positives, build upon the truth that the lady KNEW your woman needed help – the first step was making the call.
Further Actions
Inspire dialog, provide to set up scheduled appointment or mail someone to pick her up right away to take to ER; use resource list to ensure that Martha is seen simply by someone. The point is to keep Martha talking, keep your dialog up, ensure that
