There are many things that affect the way that People in america live today.
Racism, discrimination, and misjudgment are intensive in our American
culture. Though racism and discrimination are certainly not accepted because they were
inside the 1940s throughout the 1960s, these matters still exist in our society
and are still being used socially today. Racism is a idea that race is
the principal determinant of human attributes and capacities, and those racial
differences generate an inherent superiority of a particular race. In
addition to racism, Americans as well tend to become ethnocentric. Us citizens tend
to think that their particular race is superior to any others and tend to judge
other racial backgrounds in the perspective that belongs to them ethnicity. Upon
the other hand, multiculturalism can be a possible way to problems
like ethnocentrism and racism.
Social minorities experience racism as part of their everyday
life. They are really treated in a different way and discriminated against like they
are not American. They experience mental abuse and slander by people of
majorities. Racism and splendour go together, as racism leads to
discrimination. Discrimination is definitely the treatment provided based on your class
race, religion etc . of the person. Regardless if racism and discrimination are generally not
legal ever again, they still havent been eliminated from todays society.
For example , a number of decades ago blacks werent allowed to visit the same
school as white wines, they had to sit in the back of the shuttle bus and are not
treated since equals. Minorities were not permitted to go to the same school since
others. These are some instances of the ways the fact that government
discriminated against blacks. Racism just was used to
this extent that just whites had been treated within a respectable fashion. The
Italians, Irish, and Jews were victims of racism and discrimination to
some extent. As a result, so much racism is bad for a nations around the world progress since
it creates tension in a world and a nation, and keeps all of us from preserving
unity, keeping peace and helping each other.
Ethnocentrism is definitely the belief that ones culture is superior to that of
other folks thus judging other ethnicities as substandard compared to their particular.
Americans often cocoon themselves with their individual culture to ensure that no different
culture can easily penetrate this and wide open their eye to a new dimension. This kind of
makes them less accepting of others and their traditions and racial.
Narrow mindedness on our side could create confusion, disbelief, and
as a result leading to disputes in the future. If one could check out other
ethnicities from a unique perspective and a broad viewpoint there would be
even more understanding between us as being a nation.
Multiculturalism is the solution and the bright-side to be centered
on. If perhaps all the unfavorable aspects like racism and ethnocentrism were to be
overlooked, adding the best of other ethnicities can enhance American culture.
American traditions is so different and contains so many civilizations and
ethnicities all over the world. Multiculturalism is bound to eradicate
racism and making an additional accepting of others and their traditions. This
would welcome more immigrants, which will not only contributes to cultural
enrichment but also technological progress. Learning about other cultures
and accepting them is bound to expand our rayon and makes us more open-
minded. Therefore, for the issues mentioned above multiculturalism can help
remove racism and ethnocentrism.
There may be an apparent need for Us citizens to come out of all their shells
glance at the bigger picture, and cease staying judgmental. This can
advocate many positive philosophy in future and get
rid of the unfavorable tenets just like racism and ethnocentricity. Therefore
multiculturalism needs to be promoted which with any luck will eventually
eliminate all the cultural negativity in America.
Alongside, People in america shouldnt judge people by their skin color or
religion yet accept all of them for which they are, and what backdrop they come
from. They should not be therefore judgmental in the way that they think and see
persons. Everyone in the us is a north american, and should become recognized as
such. Nobody ought to be excluded via or thought about as being different
because of their background or racial. America should certainly be The
