The battle of 1812 analysis essay

The War of 1812

To many, the Battle of 1812 is considered

the second war pertaining to independence. In my opinion, it is the one of the

unusual battles of all time.

Throughout a time period among 1803-1812

British sailors was tormenting American ships within the high oceans.

British captains would eventually take over and capture over 10, 1000 American

individuals to man British delivers. In Summer of 1807, three miles off the

seacoast of Virginia, an American send named the Chesapeake was commanded

with a British dispatch named the Leopard to become boarded. If the Chesapeake

refused to interact personally, the Leopard fired, killing three and wounding 20.

This humiliated the United States as well as its people. The anti-British

perspective was in complete swing within the eve in the upcoming selection.

In 1812, James Madison was selected President

states. Aggressive the southern part of frontiersman known as the

Warhawks completely outclassed Congress. The group included Kentuckian Holly

Clay as Speaker of the home and To the south Carolinian David C. Calhoun.

These men yet others rejected Jones Jeffersons strategy of relaxing coercion.

These types of speakers could ignite an audience and stir up aggressiveness towards

the British. They can talk of the humiliation and how America shouldnt

have to endure it. These people were pressuring Madison to do a thing.

Congress needed Madison to invade Canada and harm the Indians who had

been tormenting homes on the frontier. Madison finally succumbed

for their wishes and declared battle with the Uk June one particular, 1812. The

timing of his actions seemed peculiar as during the last few months activities against

every country appeared to have been comfortable. There had been no new attacks

within the high oceans and at enough time Madison called for war, Uk Government

was suspending the Orders in Council. This was an appeasing gesture

that in all likelihood could have preserved the peace.

Madison never really wished the annexation

of Canada, he was merely pushed into the decision. There were three

endeavors to get into Canada plus they all failed. Toronto, the administrative centre of

Canada was assaulted and burned to the floor in the Fight of You are able to April

twenty-seven, 1813. Two more endeavors were made plus the struggling Usa

Army was pushed again. British naval ships blockaded all major ports

and no boats were allowed to leave or perhaps enter.

Because successful because the English troops were

on terrain, the excessive seas belonged to the Us citizens. Captain Isaac Hulls

deliver, the Metabolism won a major battle against the HMS Guerriere and

American privateers crushed or captured a number of Uk merchant delivers.

On Sept 13, 1813, Oliver Hazard Perry instructed a important American

nautico victory in the Battle of Lake Erie. In Oct of that same

year, Indian Chief Tecumseh was wiped out at the Battle of Thames, a Usa

States victory. In March of 1814, Andrew Jackson scored a victory

with the Battle of Horseshoe Fold over the Creek Indians. By this time

the English were previously tired of the war and it was priced at them too much

money.

Because the risk of Napoleon decreased in

Europe, the British navy blue increased in dimensions and electricity in The united states.

The naval blockades in American slots became much stronger than these were

ever before. Sir George Prevost, commander with the British pushes

hastily came into upper New york city State, a north american fleet going by Chief

Thomas Macdonough was holding out to turn him back. The Battle of Plattsburgh

was an American victory and this secured a northern edge between the two

countries.

Prior to the Battle of Plattsburgh, Uk

forces acquired already designed a three-part invasion in to the United States.

These people were amazed to determine that the Chesapeake region, that they can had tormented

throughout the warfare, was totally defenseless. The British occupied

and used up down the Capital and other Government buildings. In simply no

way were these actions essential to an english victory. These people were

simply retaliation for Americans burning down the Canadian capital of Ontario.

The Uk were not impressed with the defenseless capital and wanted

even more. On Sept. 2010 13, 1814, British Naval ships began bombarding

Baltimore and Fort McHenry. Pertaining to twenty-four hours Fort McHenry became

a theater of war. When the British finally gave up the maneuver

Francis Scott Key wrote a song devoted to the willpower of Fortification McHenry

called The Superstar Spangled Banner. Today it truly is our National Anthem.

While a Serenity treaty had been put together

in Europe, United kingdom troops had been about to seep into New Orleans in one of the

most bitter endings to one from the strangest battles of all time. The

War of 1812 was over and British troops were going into Struggle one previous

time. Toby Jackson was the leader with the American forces in Fresh

Orleans wonderful troops had been well defended. Seven hundred United kingdom

troops were killed and also thirteen hundred or so were wounded. The entire English

force was routed. The Americans only suffered lumination casualties.

Toby Jackson became a national hero and gave the usa a necessary

sense of pride.

I think the Conflict of 1812 was the turning

point in American independence. It marked the end of the United States

reliance on Great Britain plus the Americans entirely accepted this.

The Battle also written for the building up of Canada. In the end

america finally became its own land.
