Journal Entry #3 , A Clockwork Orange Burgess’ novel, A Clockwork Orange, carries a large number of themes prevalent to the time- period of the novel’s release. In a futuristic city ruled by a repressive totalitarian super-state, humans have become machines or lower family pets. The main protagonist of the account, Alex, asserts his cost-free will by simply deciding to live a life of debauchery and physical violence before becoming robbed of his free-will by the govt.

With many countries such as Russia and Emborrachar spreading the reds to different elements of the orld, the fear of depriving could be free-will in light of the open public was set in with the United States and its best friend forces. Free-will then in spite of its predication that individuals just like Alex can make the choice of getting wicked may also make the choice as a moral agent to do well. Without these choices the human-act of kindness/ good becomes simply a low behavior. At the start of the story, Alex merely appears to be a mindless brute, with his thoughts and behaviours geared strictly towards violent behavior.
