Of rodents and men a comparison involving the

The similarity between the book and the film “Of Mice and Men” is most evident. Even so, there are a few distinctions, some insignificant and other vital. However , inside the majority of the scenes, the dialogs happen to be taken practically from the publication.

The first difference appears in the introduction of the film. The book starts by describing the surrounding scenery of the Salinas Valley exactly where Lennie and George your time night by river. All of us learn that Lennie is mentally questioned and how this affected their stay at the farm where they previously worked.

The film starts off, however , simply by showing Lennie and George escaping from this kind of farm and their journey to Salinas Pit.

Another big difference that I noticed is concerning Curley’s wife. In the book we have a scene in which Lennie, Chocolate and Thieves are gathered in Crooks’ room. After having a while, Curley’s wife emerges and the atmosphere becomes distressing. Crooks finds the bravery to stand against her, and when he does, your woman verbally fractures him down.

Inside the movie this kind of scene under no circumstances takes place, and by eliminating this incident Curley’s wife’s destructive nature stays unrevealed.

The scene in which George is approximately to take Lennie is usually different inside the film as compared to the publication. In the book this episode is usually long and George contains a hard time taking pictures Lennie. I actually get the impression that George is hesitating and not sure if this is the proper thing to do. In the film the scene is much shorter and George looks considerably more safeguarded. The movie ends with a landscape where George and Lennie work together around the little plantation that they in which planning to buy. This is not in the book at all.

Additional scenes that have been left out inside the movie: The scene exactly where Lennie features hallucinations in regards to a giant bunny and his cousin Clara.

The scene following George has killed Lennie. In the book Sleek comforts George by taking him for a beverage.

And the landscape where Candies comes into the room when Lennie and Thieves are

talking about the little farm they are buying. In the film Thieves never finds out about the tiny farm.

For me both the film and the book has its flaws. Inside the film several crucial scenes are removed, but I think that the characters in the movie were better than in the book. In the book, I loved neither George nor Lennie. I got the impression that George was a sensitive and sort man. This individual always viewed over Lennie and tried out do the correct thing. In the film George is everything he’s in the book, although he is the wise gentleman who persons can talk to. He has an inquisitive and contemplating appearance about him. We also liked Lennie better in the movie. In the book he was just a mentally challenged personality, but in the film this individual becomes a person with real feelings and I understand his actions on another level.

I believe this would be a better film if they happen to have shortened that. It seems to me that the film is an unnecessarily long term version with the book. However, taking to several liberties the moment adapting this modern vintage into a film would not certainly be a smart move to make.. Even so, I still think that the filmmakers should have ignored some minor scenes. The story however , is definitely brilliant; the irony in the end in which George eliminates Lennie away of love, how the story is composed of four major issues, (the value of dreams and goals, meaningful responsibility, social injustice, plus the bond of friendship and loyalty, ) and how solitude is one of the main emotions. The storyplot is excellent and wizard, and only a superb writer just like John Stenbeck can create a masterpiece like this.
