Louis riel essay paper

Paillette Riel should not have been put up because he

represented individuals who couldnt signify themselves.

Louis Riel was disappointed with the way the Mtis were

so he took that upon himself to represent the Mtis and their

rights. Even though the activities that implemented, such as

keeping the new governor your colony, was illegal and

extremely wrong. Riel risked this for the rights in the Mtis. Concerning

Thomas Scott, Riel has absolutely no legal right to obtain

him shot, yet Riel him self never carressed a gun for this

goal. He had a firing squad shoot Scott. Although, Riel

may well have ordered the squad to shoot, but the males could

have backed down, regardless of how powerful Riel seemed.

After the rebellion, he was chosen by Manitoba to sit down in

the House of Commons. Riel went to Ottawa but was not really

permitted to sit as a member in the House, intended for he was

threatened by many people to be shot if he appeared inside the

House. This was the mistake of the authorities. They

should have sopped the nonsense and threats. For Riel

was a man of ideas. He was a man who had been knowledged in

the us government. It was apparent since this individual formed his own

government. Riel would have been an asset for the

Canadian government.

In 1884, Gabriel Dumont rode to Montana and asked

Riel to defend the Mtis once again. Riel returned to aid

the natives all over again. Riel was risking catch when he

returned. This was a very rspectable act on his part. Instead of

being nice and safe in Montana, Riel threw in the towel his safety

to get the Mtis. Riel chose to try a great unviolent procedure

this time around instead of starting an all out rebellion. Riel and

the Mtis drew up a petition and presented that to the

government. The petition, which will demanded even more food

and money for the natives, was looked over but is not acted

upon. The petition was fair in all of the parts however the government

turned this down. That only required that what belonged to

the residents be went back.

At the begining of 1885, Riel formed another provisional

government, and started one other rebellion. His followers

killed a large number of army soldiers, but once more it was certainly not the

hand of Riel that killed a lot of. It was of folks that had

their own thoughts and connaissance. They would have easily

said no to Riel instead of firing. In which case Riel was

not totally responsible for the deaths. After a long rebellion

consisting of many challenges, Riel offered himself up. It was his

actions that ceased the struggling with and the killing. A lesser

man could not have done such a thing.

Riel was obviously a prisoner of the Canadian authorities and

was taken to trial for his component in the rebellion. During his

trial, Riels lawyer thought in order to to acquire Riel away of

this chaos was pertaining to him to plead madness. Riel probably would not

plead insanity pertaining to he would not want his followers to look

foolish. It had been said, how can an outrageous person business lead 700

people to a rebellion until they were most insane? Paillette

was obviously a truthful gentleman and will not plead ridiculous because he

was thoughtful as well. Riel believed he previously an unfair

court, as the jury contains six the english language speaking settlers

had been chosen. Riels arguments were not listened to and he

died a great innocent man. Not guilty of killing various people

treason, forming a provisional government, and standing

up for the right of the natives.
