English 9

English 9 is the freshman English course that helps students develop critical thinking skills and language composition that is vital for success in college as well as in the working world. English 9 is a mandatory course that will set students up for English 10, and ultimately, college English courses (typically 1A).

English 10

Sophomores must take English 10, which is an expansion of the skills learned in freshman year, in addition to using more sophisticated texts. Critical analysis and reading will be further developed, and students will be driven to write more challenging essays.
